Arnold & Porter is seeking entry-level associates (JD 2023) to join the Real Estate Practice Group in the New York office in fall 2023. Ideal applicants have a record of outstanding academic achievement, superior writing and analytical skills, participation in law review, journals, clinical legal work, and/or extracurricular activities, and a demonstrated interest in real estate work.

Arnold & Porter's Real Estate practice is one of the most recognized and distinguished in the United States, focusing on all aspects of real estate transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and other real estate property transactions, as well as loan originations, loan restructurings and secondary market transactions. Our practice covers all asset types, including office, retail, hospitality, multi-family, industrial and mixed-use properties.

Our multidisciplinary Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice provides comprehensive services in restructuring and insolvency proceedings from the pre-workout phase through litigation, if necessary. We regularly represent a whole range of stakeholders, including corporate debtors, investors and asset purchasers, committees, bondholders, secured and unsecured creditors, parties dealing with distressed businesses, officers and directors, and other interested parties in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy proceedings, and related litigation throughout the United States.

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant bankruptcy law experience and/or recent bankruptcy court judicial clerkship experience. In addition, candidates must have excellent legal analysis and writing skills, academic credentials, and references.

Our respected bid protest practice litigates before all tribunals and is known for success in high-profile, high-stakes, and precedent-setting cases. We also represent clients disputing substantial claims by and against the government before the Boards of Contract Appeals and U.S. Court of Federal Claims and prosecute and defend court actions between contractors. The group’s work is exciting, often relevant to ongoing world issues, and fast-paced. The Silicon Valley office of Arnold & Porter is seeking a mid-level patent prosecution associate for the Chambers-ranked Intellectual Property Practice Group. 

 Qualified candidates for this position must have a minimum of three years of extensive work experience in the biology, biotechnology, small molecules, or biologics patent prosecution field and a Ph.D. degree in biology, biotechnology, immunology, chemistry, or equivalent technical experience.  Candidates must have experience in both writing original patent applications and prosecuting pending applications.  Candidates preferably should also have experience in working with and supervising patent agents or law clerks and professional staffs in preparing and filing documents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Familiarity with Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) practice is preferred.  All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references. 

Candidates must currently be licensed to practice law, or currently eligible to become licensed to practice, in California.  In addition, Candidates preferably are members of Patent Bar with good standing.  Candidates not currently members of the Patent Bar must be eligible to sit for the Patent Bar Exam.
